Curriculum (Grades 9-12)

The school follows the American diploma Program, which requires obtaining academic accreditation from an international body.  The American curriculum is characterized by flexibility in presenting the content and topics, cultural diversity, research-based learning.

These curriculums are advanced in science and scientific research, which develops the students’ personality and self-confidence and encourages them to be innovative and creative.

  • STEM Projects and learning are embedded through the students learning. The school is STEM certified and believes in developing the whole student learning.
  • Pathways program for high school:

         Given students’ interest in various subjects and fields of learning, the options and tracks of academic subjects provide a wider range of topics for             students according to their needs and interests in university. The selected subjects are based on the accreditation requirements for the American             Cognia program and the American High School Diploma.

The curriculum includes a core set of subjects to enhance academic skills, university and professional readiness, knowledge application, and technology application, and to ensure transition to employment or post-secondary education.

  • Admission to High School and Certificate Equivalency:

         This policy aims to equate the certificates of students enrolled in the American Diploma pathways at Al-Afaq Schools in the tenth grade and/or                 above.

The high school GPA is an accumulation over four years of study, in which the weight of the subject and the hours of study are calculated. Note that the number of credit hours for each grade is not less than 18 hours and includes an additional 40 hours of community service throughout the four years. The distribution of credit hours throughout the four years are as follows:
